PROJECTS
VICTORIAN FLATS
Boston area Program: New construction, nine residential units -- (6) two bedroom and (3) one bedroom apartments. Because it requires several zoning variances, this building needs to fit in with the neighborhood in both style and scale. Worked in conjunction with with Alex J. Knox, AIA. (Status: Approved for zoning variances)
CRAFTSMAN ATTIC
 Boston area Program: Convert
an unfinished attic to include master bedroom, child’s bedroom, and bathroom; must maintain scale and spirit of existing structure. Special challenges include headroom, keeping the project affordable and obtaining a zoning variance from the city.
ENTERTAINMENT NICHE
Boston Area Program: Convert a closet to a entertainment cabinet; including storage space for DVD's, CD's, tapes, mounted TV, stereo, etc.; must match existing 1920's china cabinet. Designed and built by Jon Goodhue Design.
"CLEAN LINES" KITCHEN
North Shore Program: Update and expand a 1960's kitchen to be brighter, more functional and have a better connection to adjacent rooms. Initial schematic designs explored a wide variety of layouts. The biggest challenge was that the kitchen could only be dismantled for a few weeks; this meant everything had to be figured out ahead of time.
UPSCALE WALK-OUT
North Shore Program: Convert an unfinished basement into a playroom, bathroom, laundry, mudroom and
pantry. The basement opens up to the back yard. Great interior decorating by the client!
MULTI-FUNCTION ADDITION/RENOVATION
North Shore Program: New garage, mudroom, laundry and game room; conversion of under-utilized living room to a big gathering space.
FAMILY ROOM FACE-LIFT
North Shore Program: Convert a tired 1970's family room to a more formal space, including a fireplace w/ antique mantle, and built-in shelves and cabinets. Project included adding central air to entire house. Designed and built by Jon Goodhue Design.
OUTDOOR SPACES
North Shore Program: Organize existing elements with landscaping and built elements. Collaborated with a landscape architect, he did a great job-- Paul Fenner.
GRAND GEORGIAN RESIDENCE
Boston Area Program: Generously proportioned new residence with space to entertain. I created all drawings and provided some construction administration for this project while working at Beacon Architectural Associates.
